The Strategic Sourcing Lead is responsible for leading the supplier selection initiative during the New Product Introduction (NPI) process. This individual manages a portfolio of critical build-to-print suppliers and their related capabilities and raw materials. This role partners closely with Engineering and cross-functional teams to ensure the successful, on time launch of new products. In addition, this role overseas the lifecycle of the materials needed in Crestron’s production. The position requires a proactive leader who understands product life cycles, Supply Chain Principles, manufacturing processes, and can balance technical collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
Responsibilities:

- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, owning RFP and RFQ processes and developing long-term sourcing strategies aligned with the product roadmap, consistently delivering risk mitigation strategies.
- Serve as the primary sourcing lead for Engineering and Product Management, partnering closely on New Product Development (NPD) and New Product Introduction (NPI) programs to ensure supply readiness, cost optimization, and technology alignment.
- Proactively identify and evaluate new manufacturing technologies, processes, and build-to-print custom materials, collaborating with Engineering to introduce innovative solutions and expand supplier and process capabilities. Drive new supplier identification, qualification, and onboarding efforts to support emerging technologies, capacity needs, risk mitigation, and long-term sourcing strategies.
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with Planning, Engineering, Quality, Accounts Payable, Manufacturing, and global suppliers to ensure alignment, execution excellence, and issue resolution.
- Actively participate in cross-functional Product Development Teams, influencing value propositions related to NRE charges, MOQ/EOQ strategies, and lot sizing to support scalable and cost-effective product launches.
- Negotiate, structure, administer, and monitor supplier agreements to ensure pricing competitiveness, delivery performance, contractual compliance, data integrity, and continuity of supply.
- Review purchase requisitions for materials via MRP or other purchase requisitions. Respond to critical shortages, end of life notifications and force majeure events.
- Lead supplier business reviews focused on driving innovation, continuous improvement, cost reduction, and sustained world-class quality performance.
- Influence sourcing governance and processes to drive cost optimization, supplier capability alignment, and component standardization; ensure accurate and disciplined execution of sourcing strategies within SAP.
Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or Business with concentration in Supply Chain
- 10 years experience in Supply Chain, preferably in Procurement or Planning
- 10 years experience in Manufacturing preferred
- Purchasing experience in an MRP environment with commodities that require custom specifications (SAP is a plus)
- Understanding of Tooling, NRE (Non-Reoccurring expenses) and Compliance requirements
- Excellent Negotiation Skills
- Able to work on a global environment creating a positive partnership with other teams around the world

Per applicable state requirements, the annual pay range for this position ($112,500 - $161,000) which consists of base salary (subject to performance), reflects the hiring range for candidates. Also note, an individual’s offer may vary from this range as it may be impacted by additional factors, including but not limited to the candidate's hiring location, qualifications, experience, and market factors.
